How to Read the My Hero Academia Manga For Free Online
My Hero Academia is one of the most popular manga being serialized today. Here's how you can get caught up in time for its upcoming grand finale.

The manga My Hero Academia is one of the most-read series currently running in the Japanese magazine Shonen Jump, with over 65 million volumes already sold. Now that My Hero Academia's possible end date has been announced, more people than ever are trying to get caught up on the hit series. Here's how to do that both easily and legally.
Since manga are written and published primarily for Japanese audiences, it's not always easy for Western fans to get access to the latest material. Fortunately, My Hero Academia's popularity has ensured that it gets simultaneous releases in English and Japanese, already eliminating what is one of the biggest pitfalls for manga fans. Much like Naruto and other similar Shonen anime, the anime adaptation of the series is easily available on many streaming services, but the manga equivalents of these services are still a bit new to many potential readers. There are even a few different sources that fans can choose to read from!

Starting in December 2018, Viz launched a manga reading app using the Shonen Jump name and branding. All the titles which had previously been running in their digital Shonen Jump magazine, including My Hero Academia and its canonical spinoff series My Hero Academia Vigilantes, became available through the app instead. Considering My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is also ending soon, it's just as worth checking out. While it took time for the entire series up to that point to be made available, all 350+ chapters that are currently out are available through the service now. Users can read the first three and three latest chapters for free, but accessing anything in-between will require a membership.
Fortunately for manga fans, the Shonen Jump app is one of the most affordable media libraries online at just $1.99 per month. Members can read up to 100 chapters a day, which is plenty for the overwhelming majority of readers. The app is also accessible through the Viz website, meaning that a smartphone or tablet isn't necessary to access the library, either. Additionally, the Shonen Jump app has volumes available for sale, including bonus materials.
Shueisha's Manga Plus

Shueisha, the Japanese publisher of Shonen Jump titles like My Hero Academia, also has its own English-language manga library app known as Manga Plus, which began service in January 2019. Manga Plus is based on the publisher's Japanese service, Shonen Jump+, and is available internationally. Manga Plus does not require membership; the first three and most recent three chapters of each series are always available to read for most titles, online or in-app. Certain titles, particularly big names like My Hero Academia and One Piece, have every chapter available (in English) through the app from January 2022 to January 2023, but as a consequence of licensing agreements, each chapter can be viewed only once per device. It's also worth pointing out that, in addition to huge hits, Manga Plus has more than a few hidden gems worth checking out.
Aside from English, Manga Plus also has Spanish, Thai, and French translations available for My Hero Academia. Russian, Indonesian, and Portuguese are supported for other titles, so My Hero Academia may be made available in these languages in the future. For those on a tight budget who just need to dive through the story and get caught up quickly, Manga Plus is a perfectly fine option, and maybe better for residents of certain countries. Regardless of what service is used, now is a great time to get up-to-date on My Hero Academia in order to avoid finale spoilers.
You can read the latest chapter of My Hero Academia now on either Viz's Shonen Jump App, or through Shueisha's Manga Plus!
