Marine Conservation in Lisbon, Portugal

Volunteers in this program will be able to join conservation efforts focused on marine ecosystem protection, particularly on the coastline of Portugal. In collaboration with a diving school with an emphasis on local environmental protection, you can:

• Take internationally recognized diving certifications.

• Explore the underwater world of the Portuguese coastline.

• Learn about the marine ecosystem and how to protect it.

• Collect trash from the bottom of the ocean to recycle it.

• Work with the local community—educate them about environmental issues, conservation, and protection of biodiversity and marine resources.

Participants will be supervised by an experienced diving instructor and will undergo comprehensive marine conservation training. Anyone can participate, from beginners (starting with the Open Water Dive Certification) to more experienced divers, as the program is adapted to your diving experience. Observe fish of all colors, touch weird seaweeds, explore caves, discover boat wrecks, and do more. Discover Portuguese treasures unknown to many and loved by those brave enough to take this challenge.
